RETRATOS brings together some of Melbourne’s finest exponents of Brazilian music. The group explores the rich tapestry of sounds and colours found in the music while focusing on a contemporary and original approach to the compositions and group improvisations. The music moves from the Samba and Choro music of Rio de Janeiro in the south, to the street and carnival music of Brazil's north eastern regions, where the Forro, Baiao and Frevo rhythms rule.

Bar Open welcomes back rock quartet Phoenix Street who are already selling out shows and building a healthy following on both sides of the river. Joined by post-punk outfit Assorted Pleasures and nu-jazz boppers Banksia.
