RSOM is an independent organisation that celebrates, supports and educates emerging songwriters to achieve sustainable music careers. Established in 2014, the RSOM has helped hundreds of songwriters start and grow their careers through their variety of events and programs. But most of all, RSOM is known for their inclusive environment as their community welcomes songwriters of all ages, genres, genders, backgrounds and abilities.

MAREYA

Mareya, a New Zealand native now flourishing in Melbourne, epitomizes the fusion of empowerment, vulnerability and creativity in her music. From captivating audiences at festivals to touring with renowned DJs, her music has traveled far, even gracing international radio waves. Mareya's story is one of relentless pursuit and passion, fueled by her advocacy for kindness, mental health awareness, and feminism. She recently signed with Tomboi Records, an Australian independent label, the first record label in the world created to safeguard the rights of women, people of color, and LGBTQ communities, marking a pivotal moment in her career. Inspired by artists like Marina and Melanie Martinez, she weaves these themes into her music, aspiring to foster a safer, more inclusive world.

MAGDALIA

Dubbed by Forte Magazine as “Melbourne’s rising star” and reminiscent of Florence & The Machine, Taylor Swift and Lorde, Magdalia is a soulful songstress with powerhouse vocals. Magdalia’s heart-aching and infectious folk-pop music presents an authentic and vulnerable artist sharing her experiences as a young autistic woman finding her way in the world. Having played in venues and festivals around Victoria such as The Paris Cat Jazz Club, The Bergy Bandroom, The Sooki Lounge & The Festival of Sails, she has established herself as a captivating performer with a unique talent for audience connection, bringing listeners deep, thoughtful lyrics that linger long after the music ends.

GARY HUBBER

Gary Hubber is an Australian Pop Rock artist whose music is a captivating fusion of timeless melodies and contemporary lyricism. Drawing inspiration from the nostalgic vibes of 60’s Rock and Roll and the raw authenticity of Southern Roots Rock, his compositions take listeners on a journey through time, evoking a sense of familiarity while presenting a fresh Perspective.

From the first note, his music transports you to a world where driving guitar rhythms ignite your spirit and rich harmonies elevate your emotions. With a keen eye for storytelling, he weaves whimsical lyrics into his original songs, often imbued with hidden meanings waiting to be discovered. With each new release, he continues to carve his own path, delivering a distinct sound that pays homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of contemporary Pop Rock.

EVELYN

Melbourne based singer-songwriter Evelyn Fong began writing songs with her childhood best friend - the main topic of interest revolving around fighting grown men at the ripe age of 5. Thankfully, Evelyn has since broadened her lyrical horizons.

Evelyn prides herself in writing poetic and meaningful lyrics in her serious songs, and quirky and whiplash-inducing lyrics in her comedic songs. Her songs contain soft piano, plucky guitar, and infectious synths with catchy melodies and lyrics that leave listeners laughing, crying, and inspired to break up with their inadequate partners (in that order).

She is currently working on her first single release ‘Distant Galaxy’ and her first EP. Her work centres around topics such as mental health, racial identity, and Evelyn’s preference to stay home watching DC shows with her dad over going to parties.
