Described by critics as a “lord of the strings” (Michael Dwyer, The Age) and “the future of jazz composition” (Paul Williams, ASCAP), award-winning guitarist/composer Quentin Angus is one of Australia’s brightest stars on the international circuit. Having firmly cemented his place in the NYC jazz scene over the past decade, Angus returns home with his brand new album, The State of Things, and a stellar all-Australian line up.

Sharing the stage with Angus will be some of Australia’s brightest stars, including Jo Lawry — best known for her work with Sting, Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel, pianist Steve Barry, bassist Sam Anning and drummer Ben Vanderwal.

Featuring deeply emotive song-craft, lyricism and colossal grooves, The State of Things courageously reflects upon the challenges of our times, drawing the listener into a world of light and shade. This is a bold statement from an expat on the rise.
