A daring tale of swashbucklers, adventure, and a HOT AF, QUEER AF band of pirates connecting with audience members through high energy punk music, comedy and queer theatrics.

With the Royal Navy hot on their tails, the crew of the Rusty Starfish must cast aside the excruciating sexual tension between them in a last-ditch effort to secure their freedom and enjoy a life of piracy. Part punk rock gig, part theatre, and part tentacle-worship, be ready to experience a high energy original ensemble performance with extensive lore and storylines tying the voyage themed tracks together.

“The best gig Gummo has ever seen” – Sarah (Owner, Cafe Gummo)

“There’s days when you’re over this job and then there’s shows like this that remind you why you do it” – Joey Itrurissi (Sound Engineer, The Catfish)

Quickly becoming a Naarm local favourite after their sold out debut gig at Cafe Gummo in late September 2024, the band have since been invited to join notable events such as Nightmare on Sydney Rd and Good Things Band Comp as well as being granted an upcoming “supported season” at Bluestone Church Arts Space in 2025

The crew is led by the fearless Captain, Danger Rodriguez on vocals and consists of Madame De Maupin (Hailey Mazzei) as the fancy, french, first mate on keys, Jawbone Jasper (Jasper Krzyzanowski) and The Wizard (Chris Doherty) on electric guitar, Sandy Fishnets (Millie Piskopos) on bass, and Peggy Bootstraps (Buffy Acacia) on drums.
