Progximity Melbourne is a not-for-profit initiative to pull together the best of Melbourne’s intensely creative post-rock/progressive rock scene. The people behind Progximity have been putting on rock shows in Melbourne for almost 20 years – The Earthrise Festival, ProgFest, and the Sunday Sixpack, to name a few. Yeah we love rock, but especially those bands that do it differently, whether it be via a unique use of instrumentation, by approach, by execution, or by sheer musical charisma. The bands we’re featuring on this showcase lineup vary in style from progressive metal to ambient post-rock, and all the stuff in between which generally defy attempted labelling.
