Created by Peter Gaudion in 1978 as the house band for the Hotel Victoria, Albert Park, which became the Mecca for great Australian & international Jazz between 1978 & 1980.

On selling the hotel, Peter moved down the road to the Beaconsfield Hotel, where for the next 6 years presented top Australian and international bands, often supported by the Blues Express. The band recorded an iconic album with legendary blues singer Jimmy Witherspoon and played with or backed such greats as Dave Brubeck, Ruby Braff, Ralph Sutton, Phil Woods, Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel, Don Burrows & George Golla to name just a few. The band has toured extensively, playing all major festivals, and is renowned for its diversity of styles, ranging from Louis Armstrong to Cannonball Adderley.
