Peter Farnan and the Home Bodies play Art Pop. They traverse a song scape from muted, finely crafted songs, through melodic pop gems to brief, spasmodic noise fests. Peter was founding member of Oz Rock icons Boom Crash Opera and before that inner-city post punk-pioneers, Serious Young Insects. Megan Bernard plies her skills with artists like Emma Donovan and Liz Stringer, plus in her own impressive solo oeuvre. Kalju Tonuma has produced or engineered too many artists to mention, but the Arias and gold records that line his walls say it all. The banter is funny, the songs have resonance, the performances are galvanising.
Coming off their second single release, “Until You’re Gone”, Bendigo 5-piece indie/alt rock band Broad Parade plays their first Melbourne headline gig supported by the modern funk sound of The Whyb, and the Aussie indie, PowderFinger-esque tunes of Sugargum.
