“Perasmenes Mou Agapes” (Μy past loves)
A phrase that echoes with nostalgia and tender remembrance. Like the iconic song from which it takes its name, it speaks of old romances, fading memories, and the bittersweet beauty of what once was.
This musical tribute awakens the memories of a bygone era — where melodies spoke to the soul.
A night full of emotion, images, sounds, and stories from the golden age of Greek music.
A journey through the songs that raised us, comforted us, and continue to move us.
Through the works of Vassilis Tsitsanis, Manos Hadjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Apostolos Kaldaras, Giorgos Zampetas, Manolis Chiotis, Stavros Xarchakos, and other legendary artists, we honor the roots of Laïkó music — where East meets West, and joy and sorrow share the same tune.
Live ensemble , authentic instruments, powerful vocals, and rare archival visuals will breathe new life into the stories of love, loss, exile, and everyday life that made these songs immortal.
This is more than a concert — it’s a heartfelt tribute to the soul of post-war Greece, and to the beauty that emerged through adversity.
Let us take you on a journey through smoky taverns, Athenian rooftops, and hearts that still beat to the rhythm of the bouzouki.
Whether you grew up with these melodies or are discovering them for the first time, this night will stay with you forever.
Ruth Hazleton brings her darkfolk album project Heronbones to the stage, featuring Naarm instrumentalist & producer Dan West on guitar, live electronics, beats and pieces, and Lostii on synths & vocals.
Heronbones is a collection of stories (both traditional and composed), told through soundscape. Drawing from deep wells of folklore and trad song, Hazleton reshapes these narratives through a darkfolk lens, blending electronic sampling and sound design with guitar and banjo. The project realises an artistic vision seeded many years ago, inspired by 90s downbeat, electronica and triphop.
A Naarm/Melbourne-based singer, banjo player, guitarist and songwriter, Hazleton has remained a prominent figure in Australia's folk music scene for over 30 years and was awarded 'Artist of the Year' at the 2021 Australian Folk Music Awards.
Special Guests: Lotus Threads is a poetry and music project by poet Panda Wong and musician Hannah Wu (electronics and Guzheng). Joined by harpist/instrumentalist Genevieve Fry, Lotus Threads explore collaboration and the links between music and spoken word.
