Oscar LaDell, 23, was born in the US and raised in Purakaunui, Dunedin. A second-generation musician, Oscar started out playing standards in bars around Dunedin, featuring songs by Muddy Waters, BB King and Guitar Slim. Over the years, funk, rock, soul, R&B and more have found their way into Oscar’s music.
In the space of one of LaDell’s original songs, the sound can range from a gentle slow dance to explosive and hypnotic guitar solos. Oscar’s powerful and expressive guitar playing and soulful singing act as one to create a sound that is both reminiscent of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and fresh.
Oscar is now based in Melbourne, Australia and has many exciting projects and shows slated for the upcoming year.
Mick is founding member of northern NSW country rock and roll outfit The Re-Mains, who from 2000 to present have toured every rodeo and inner city dive in Australia, made three massive tours of Canada and a successful run through Europe.
He’s frontman of Mick Daleys Corporate Raiders, who play all over rural Victoria, South Australia and Melbourne and have toured as far afield as the North Coast National in the Northern Rivers of NSW. They’re releasing a vinyl single post-lockdown and putting the finishing touches to an album begun pre-lockdown.
Mick’s in town recording with the Raiders and a new solo album. His last, Tiny Violins was produced and played on by Matt Walker (Lost Ragas, Tex Perkins) and his new record revels in the same Dylanesque lyricism and arcane Australiana.
