As Nevena gets ready to move to the Netherlands for 4-5 years and leave the Great Southern Land, this farewell gig looms on the horizon as a bookend to one lovely, richly tapestried life chapter. Having done successful and sold-out shows over the years at some of Melbourne's beloved venues (Paris Cat Jazz Club, The Workers Club, The Toff in Town, Open Studio), Nevena is honoured to do her farewell concert at the Workers band room, her very fave place to perform.

As someone who has sung all her life in a variety of ways (chorale, jazz quartet, duo), a few years ago Nevena started writing songs and released her debut singer-songwriter EP, 'In the Lines of Your Palms' (available on Spotify, Apple Music, etc), a hotchpotch of baroque pop, indie folk and bluesy jazz. This new venture was a revitalising, revealing contrast for Nev, who had enjoyed singing covers live since 2015.

The "Goodbye, Australia" show will see Nev—accompanied by her guitarist friend, Mile—do a selection of both English songs and tunes from Former Yugoslavia, where she partially grew up before emigrating to Oz in 1994.

After 30 wonderful years Down Under, join us for what will be Nevena's last gig on Aussie shores for a long while!
