It’s a thing!

Musical Sporks is an upcoming regular poetry gig where you have the option of performing your poetry to music. There will be a set menu of five tracks made by George O’Hara (aka Fluxofhumour), each with a mood or energy.

Angry, Horny, Sad, Atmospheric, Beats, the tracks will occasionally change as will the moods as we get a feel for what people want. You can also bring your own music, or perform with no music at all.

This gig will be every 4 weeks in 2026. Come along and see how your poetry feels alongside music!

Mamma Chen’s is a wheelchair accessible venue however, the stage is not; we can organise lift access to the stage if you contact us at least a week prior to the event.

Mamma Chen’s acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, the true owners of the land that we live and operate on. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
