Monash Medical Jazz Band returns to The JazzLab for a vibrant afternoon of swinging rhythms, soulful tunes and expressive solos. Alongside our 16-piece Big Band, we have interspersed a range of intimate ensembles to showcase the incredible diversity of jazz and our talented musicians. Led by conductor Joshua Choong, our passionate medical students have been hard at work over the semester, preparing a mix of jazz classics and contemporary charts which will be sure to have you grooving in your seat.

David Bridie “On Karen’s Piano” album launch

Fresh from his triumphant Sydney Festival show with the legendary Not Drowning Waving & Telek, David Bridie launches his new album “On Karen’s Piano”. The album sees Bridie re-imagine his back catalogue for just voice and piano, and was recorded in memory of a close friend, using her beloved grand piano.

For this show he will be joined by collaborators, ambient guitarist Rosie Excess (https://rosieexcess.bandcamp.com) and violin virtuoso Xani Kolac (https://www.xanikolac.com) David and his guests will perform two sets.
