Returning down under for the first time since 2016, indie-rock royalty Modest Mouse will bring along cult favourites “Float On”, “Dashboard” and classics from the revered The Lonesome Crowded West, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. The Golden Casket, the band’s seventh-studio album and first new album in six years, is exploring the degradation of America’s psychic landscape through the glass of the smartphone screen. Pitchfork deems the album “a procession of pinging, clanging, reverberating tactile pleasures, an inventive backdrop for Isaac Brock’s familiar blend of forced optimism and unforced paranoia.”
