About 'some things can't be unsaid':

Mellowing’s debut album ‘some things can’t be unsaid’ explores themes of change through an emo lens accosting a cheerful facade.

Characterised by quintessentially bright guitars and heartbreaking vocals and lyricism, Mellowing has created an album that preludes to vibrancy and amplifies feelings of grievance, nostalgia, and feeling left behind.

Light, dark, then light again, Mellowing has woven these elements into the core of the album with a melodic clash of expert instrumentalism, notably accentuated by the handshake between scintillating drums and rumbling fretless bass.

A patchwork of emo shoegaze and math, ‘some things can’t be unsaid’ was recorded over the span of a year, hand sewn by four friends experiencing life’s trials and tribulations together.

Rooted in transience, ‘some things can’t be unsaid’ is the uncertain ground on which late adolescence stands on. Emotionally transfixed and volatile, the album conveys life’s wavering fault lines whilst standing on the edge of night.
