Max Teakle began learning the piano at the age of 5, playing the blues and the music of Thelonious Monk. Now 12 years later he is extending and refining his pianistic approach under the tutelage of Barney McCall and Mark Fitzgibbon. Here playing with two close friends and equally strong voices in the Melbourne music scene, Blakely McClean Davies and Dom Stitt. They form a strikingly beautiful group through intimate exploration and a deep musical trust. Whether they’re playing American Songbook standards, originals or more contemporary works by the Beatles, Jeff Buckley or Paul Simon the trio always manages to communicate with long, emotionally arching pieces that resonate with whoever happens to listen.
