Experience a full sensory overload presented by some of Melbourne’s finest experimental artists for this Melbourne Music Week exclusive event at Max Watts.

HEAVY SPECTRA is a new work by Mat Watson featuring live visuals by Carla Zimbler and guest appearances by experimental percussionist Nat Grant and the fevered dream saxophone sounds of Cayn Borthwick (NoZu/Cong Josie). Live sound will be realised and performed by Casey Rice. Following on from the euphoric sounds of Magnitudes performed by the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, HEAVY SPECTRA combines electronic sound densities and dimensions, with hyper surreal visuals to create a full spectrum sensory experience that agitates for the ecstatic. Think of HEAVY SPECTRA as the tripped out evil twin of Magnitudes.

Joining this bill is the earth shatteringly loud and transcendentally hypnotic guitar force of Bonnie Mercer, the otherworldly synthesiser music of Fia Fiell and the debut of Robin Fox’s Archival Sound Set, an abstract delivery of historical recordings direct from his personal vault. Interstitial DJ sets provided throughout the night with love from Nice Music.
