From an Army baby in Germany, back to his home town in sunny Inverkeithing, then on to the cultural mecca that is Victorias Sth Eastern suburbs. Mal has done some travelling and living in his time. As a sideman he has played bass for many Blues and Roots acts in the Melbourne scene. However, the last few years have been focused on his blend of Folk/Blues/Country songwriting.
