After releasing their debut EP “The Green Superintendent” in early 2018, MAKO ROAD have established themselves as one of New Zealand’s hardest touring acts. The indie pop-rock outfit will perform three headline shows along the east coast of Australia, kicking off at the Outpost in Brisbane on Thursday December 12 before heading to Sydney’s Factory Floor on December 14 and Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on December 15.
Formed while at the University of Canterbury, Mako Road is an indie pop-rock outfit from Christchurch, New Zealand. Beginning as a covers band playing at University events and parties, the four boys eventually developed their own sound influenced by a range of genres, leading them to release three singles in 2017, and their debut EP “The Green Superintendent” in early 2018. They followed the release with their second EP “Local Safari” in late 2018, played sold-out tours across NZ and Australia, and performed at a number of festivals over summer.
Mako Road are currently working on new material, with an eye towards releasing in late-2019, and this run of shows will give audiences a sneak peek. Fans can expect the boys to bring their high energy live performance to summer hot spots across the country this December.
