Melbourne singing and songwriting powerhouse Maggie Alley is not just-another-girl-with-a-guitar.
Raised on Patti Smith, Kate Bush, Rowland S. Howard and Triffids records, she heard Smith’s Dancing Barefoot on cassette aged three and decided, then and there, that she would be a musician and as they say, the rest is history.
In the wake of debut single Mr Billy getting airplay on Triple R-FM, ABC Radio Melbourne, PBS-FM and 3CR, she presents her EP Beasts.
Containing four gems brought to life by Melbourne institution Matt Walker (Lost Ragas) at Stovepipe studios, Beasts is four tracks of raw blues punk attitude from the dark haired girl with darker songs, punk attitude and a celtic wit.
