Lucy Wise & Rain of Animals
A Sunday late-arvo concert at The Lomond bringing together two folk festival favourites: singer songwriter Lucy Wise and Rain of Animals. It’ll be Lucy’s first Melbourne show of 2025, and a farewell to Rain of Animals before they head back to Scotland!
Rain Of Animals is the euphonious collaboration between Pepita Emmerichs (Oh Pep!) and Theodore Barnard (Wire & Wool) and their love of all things mandolin, fiddle, guitar, harmony vocals, bluegrass, oldtime, swing, tunes and songs. Spanning originals to arrangements of classics and gems of rarities you wish you had discovered earlier, their sound is both new and old, unique in its instrumental wizardry and musical integrity all at once.
Effortlessly blending acoustic, traditional folk, roots and pop sounds, Lucy Wise is a multi award-winning singer-songwriter with a voice that pulls hearts out from the shadows. Lucy masterfully articulates the things we don't often say aloud, describing in rich detail what it's like to live in the world at this particular time. She won the 2024 Australian Folk Music Awards’ Solo Artist of the Year and the 2023 Music Victoria Awards’ Best Folk Work. 2024 saw Lucy tour her latest EP, Yearning to festivals and venues across Australia.
Pepi, Theo and Lucy will be joined by special guests Isaac Gunnoo on bass, Kyrie Anderson on drums and Flora Carbo on saxophone.
