Drawing heavily on Motown, 60s rock 'n' roll and Brit Pop bands from the turn of the century, Louis Valentine & The Golden Age play soul-pop tunes infused with latin rhythms, sung by a bloke who fancies himself as a "young Joe Cocker, without sideburns".
Cow bell, güiro and congas star alongside smoky vocals and dry humour in Melbourne's Louis Valentine & The Golden Age - a band whose four-piece rhythm section grows by the day. Born in 2016, of a need to hear meaningful lyrics over devastatingly danceable tunes, The Golden Age provide a groovy canvas on which Louis Valentine paints catchy melodies and irreverent observations about everyday life.
After two EPs and a bunch of sold-out shows, Louis Valentine & The Golden Age are releasing a new single off their upcoming debut album, and are ready to unleash their unique brand of soulful, rock 'n' roll on the world.
