“Los Derros” play a mix of traditional 40’s Cuban son montuno, 50’s Puerto Rican pop songs, early 60’s Nigerian Highlife, and other music that suits Hawaiian shirts, cocktails and sunny beer gardens! Kade Brown formed the band in Berlin in 2023 with a hugely successful Friday night residency in a Neukölln bar, and upon returning to Australia in 2025 Kade has restarted the band with long-time collaborators in Melbourne. Originally “Los Drongos”, the refurbished “Los Derros” feature an all star line-up of Donald Stewart on trombone, Yael Zamir on flute, Jordan Tarento on double bass, Dominic Sitt on drums and percussion, and some very special guests!
