Two legends of the Melbourne Ska scene...

Two new releases... Three powerhouse live sets and one DJ are taking over The Northcote Social Club over the ANZAC long weekend and are guaranteed to get the house jumping.

This is one massive afternoon of SKA that will go down in history.

First to hit the Stage will be Dean Hilson & The Ska Vendors, bringing to life once more their stylish feast of first-wave ska songs in celebration of acclaimed Jamaican saxophonist Tommy McCook. The debut show was played to a packed house at the Bird’s Basement last year. Now they are back for a special encore performance with a limited CD release in hand “A Tribute to Tommy McCook Volume 1” through Transmitter Records.

Next up will be Melbourne’s ska stalwarts, The Ska Vendors. Who will take the stage to deliver their infectious sounds of early ska and rocksteady classics, along with an array of originals guaranteed to get you moving.

Closing out the night are the legends of Aussie pub-rock-Ska, Loin Groin. The much-loved Melbourne band will be celebrating this night with the release of their first ever, vinyl album “Damage Control” through Carm-Down Records. Their style, attitude and high-energy performance will have you on the floor from the first drop till the last.

Setting the vibe throughout will be Mohair Slim (3PBS Blue Juice) taking to the decks with all vinyl hits and rarities from Jamaica’s golden age of music.

Releases and merchandise will be available to purchase on the night.
