Join award-winning cartoonists Lee Lai and Eloise Grills at the iconic Brunswick Artists’ Bar!
The event is part of Lee’s Australian east coast tour of her latest graphic novel Cannon (Giramondo, 2025), a story that explores the intimacy of queer friendship and the weight of family responsibility, and follows the Quebec-based artist’s tours across Canada, the United States and Italy last year. A follow-up to the multi-award-winning Stone Fruit, Cannon was named a ‘best book of 2025’ by the New York Times, ABC Arts, NPR, the Guardian and the Sydney Morning Herald.
She’ll be joined in conversation by Eloise Grills, an award-winning artist and writer living on unceded Wada Wurrung land. Her illustrated memoir-in-essays, big beautiful female theory, was shortlisted for the 2023 Stella Prize.
Copies of books by Lee Lai and Eloise Grills will be available for sale on the night via Brunswick Bound, with book signings following the discussion.
This event is free, but registration via Moshtix is essential. We hope to see you there!
