La Familia are a 6 piece Melbourne based band who perform authentic music from Cuba. Formed under the guidance of esteemed percussionist Rodolfo Hechavarria Despaigne Panga, the band play the traditional rhythms of son, bolero and rumba with a repertoire of songs from Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
