The Kinju Quintet is a Melbourne based group that plays original music.
After some recent but prolonged disturbances in the force, the planets have again re-aligned and brought together some of Melbourne’s finest to produce the swinging, super-hip, hard bop sounds that is the Kinju Quintet. In channelling the influences of players like Miles, Monk, Mingus and the Messengers, their aim is essentially a joyous, soulful ‘blowout’.
