King Blakey is a fresh sextet that features the swinging tunes of Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. This group features some of the best up-and-coming, yet established, Melbourne jazz musicians. Their repertoire spans the work of the famous Jazz Messengers group combining classic repertoire with lesser-known works. They maintain the sincerity of the historic group while incorporating a modern twist.
