Kenn. & The Cost of Living are an alternative space rock band out of Melbourne.
Swirling neo pop with 70s Stones flavour, they deliver a wholly melodic and joyous ride through the trials and tribulations of living in the modern world. Drawing influences from Tom Petty to The Dandy Warhols, their sunny drenched tunes and sweet vocal harmonies soothe the sting of rent week and the leak in your roof. The infectious pop hooks hide the sometimes dry and depressing narrative of living in poverty and trying to get by.
The first single, Fish Fillet and Rice, is no exception; lamenting working all day to only being able to afford cheap frozen dinners. It’s a tough ride, but the catchy melancholy transports you to a colourful escape while you groove along to the galactic guitar solos.
