To celebrate the release of his latest single, the uplifting anthem “Coming To Our Senses”, Joshua Batten will embark on his first national tour, officially kicking off with a headline show in the basement of St Kilda’s famed Esplanade Hotel!
Joshua Batten is a modern-day troubadour, using music as his language to connect with his audience. Drawing on personal experience, his music provides both an escape and perspective in a complex world. Based in Melbourne, Joshua's personal brand of Alternative Roots Rock is characterised by passionate vocals, accomplished guitar playing, layered arrangements and insightful lyrics. His songs strive to “know thyself”, exploring genuine reflections of life’s most introspective moments, then humbly offering them up as common and universal experiences.
Joshua's live sets have resonated with audiences and made him a festival favourite, with recent appearances at Echuca Winter Blues, Cronulla Jazz & Blues, Bendigo Blues & Roots, Newstead Live, Frankston Waterfront, Melbourne Fringe and the Melbourne Guitar Show. His other achievements include reaching the Semi-Finals of the Melbourne Blues Challenge (2018), performing live on The Friday Revue for ABC Radio Melbourne, and opening for world-renowned artists including Russell Morris, Irish Mythen (CAN) and Neal Morse (USA).
Joshua’s latest album, Learn To Live Again, was released in October 2022, supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria. The sprawling 14-track album is an eclectic mix of songs that tell a cohesive story about the challenges and acceptance of mental health and neurodiversity, set against the backdrop of COVID-19. Joshua launched the album with a residency as part of Melbourne Fringe 2022, and played a sold-out encore show at Kingston Arts Centre in May 2023.
Supporting Joshua will be 21-year old singer-songwriter Kaylah Thomas. Based in Country Victoria, Kayla’s songs are written from places of emotive drive, exploring the relationship between loss, love, nostalgia and reflection.

Loki
With less than 150 sword swallowers worldwide, WGFS is proud to include Melbourne's very own sideshow talent, Loki! Not only can he swallow swords, drill pieces or basically anything else he thinks will make you squirm. Loki is the master of putting God knows what into God knows where!
Kinetic Chaos - The Bloody Butcher
A multi-disciplined movement artist, Juggler, Dancer and Flow Artist.
Kinetic Chaos draws on a diverse range of movement styles to craft his performances, which range from illusionary displays of geometry in motion, to raw and unrefined expressions of emotion, soul and animalistic desire.
For 'The World's Greatest Freakshow' Kinetic Chaos will bring 'The Bloody Butcher' back to life. His humor is side splitting but let's just hope he doesn't butcher the show.
Goldie
In most jobs you're told to be flexible... Well, Goldie may have taken this statement too literally as WGFS incredibly talented contortionist.
Now let's put her hot and twisted body off the ground and see what she can do!
Aleksandra The Great
