The event is a celebration of Joelistics past works as a rapper and a sneak peek at future directions with new songs that blend classic Hip Hop with Folk, acoustic and indie influences.

Joelistics announces “Songs in Progress,” at Howler on Friday the 1st of July as part of Sensible Antixx “Sensible Soirees” series.

Joelistics is best known as a rapper/producer that’s crafted iconic sounds and songs for himself and others. From alt-rap group TZU over 4 celebrated albums to 2 solo albums including Voyager which arrived to critical and commercial acclaim and was nominated for an Age Music award, and second album Blue Volume which was described by Rolling Stone as “…a celebration and mourning of the current state of the world, voiced by a smart, incisive writer.”

More recently Joelistics has been operating as a producer for iconic Australian artists such as Haiku Hands, Mo Ju’, Parvyn, Mindy Meg Wang, Omar Musa and Birdz and won the Music Victoria Award for best producer in 2020. His solo work as a vocalist took a back seat and in 2020 he embraced experimental sounds with synths and time-travelling loops in the multimedia project Film School.

After recently signing with Sensible Antixx MGMT, this gig promises to be a special intimate show with a performer returning to the stage with new skills, new sounds and new songs.
