Jessie L. Warren plays in Hachiku, half/cut, has been a touring member of SEAGULL, sung on stage with The Breeders, Jen Cloher, and courtney barnett, formed a supergroup (Golden Arrow) with Lisa Mitchell and Lanie Lane, and released a 2010 LP as CARRY NATION.

But Warren has also avoided the spotlight, favouring film scores, experiments, learning. Studying marine biology, she turned in a song for an assignment; studying composition, she submitted a scientific report instead of a score.

All this has led to her debut solo LP, Ūhta. Recorded live in a Melbourne church, its sound —harp, pipe organ, saxophone, musical saw, choral vocals— was inspired by Talk Talk, Movietone, Caroline Shaw, and repeat listens of Joni Mitchell’s River.

Please join her to celebrate the release of her first musical piece in many years, it's called Emergency Contact (out April 26) from the upcoming LP Ūhta (out via Little Lake later this year).
