Jesse Lawrance

Jesse Lawrance is a seasoned singer-songwriter hailing from Castlemaine, Victoria. With roots firmly planted in the Texas songwriter tradition and a deep appreciation for country and Americana genres, Jesse writes songs that are gritty and poetic. His lyrics combine powerful imagery with deft storytelling to create moving vignettes from the raw materials of life; think Guy Clark or Townes Van Zandt.

Having honed his craft as the front man for Melbourne-based roots outfits The Goodtime Medicine Band and The Bon Tons, Jesse's musical journey took a transformative turn in 2020. Amidst the pandemic, he committed to daily song writing, resulting in a collection of meticulously crafted songs that he now shares at venues and festivals across Victoria. Frequent haunts include The Lomond Hotel and The Drunken Poet.

Recently, Jesse recorded his highly anticipated debut studio album at Sound Recordings with an exceptional band, featuring Pete Fidler, Kat Mear, Steve Temple and Honeytree. The album is due for release in 2024.

Jesse Lawrance's music evokes a sense of time and place, weaving strong melodies, powerful imagery and authentic storytelling into varied emotional landscapes.

A true folk poet, Jesse is earning a reputation as a captivating songwriter and performer.
