The Jawa Pitu Band play dangdut — music originating in 1970s Indonesia. It's a heady mix of Hindustani, Malay, Arabic and Western music. We play our own version of 70s dangdut with additional inspiration from western jazz/groove, Indonesian gamelan, along with African and Cuban percussion. The Jawa Pitu Band look forward to bringing the melodic vocals of traditional Javanese music through to the funk from Jakarta dance floors to The Post Office Hotel.
