Two years on, this acclaimed recording continues to resonate with audiences and critics, and the James Sherlock Trio is set to celebrate its anniversary with a special concert event accompanied by an exclusive re-run of CD and LP pressings of the album available at this show.

Joined by the exceptional Sam Anning (double bass) and Danny Fischer (drums), James draws on the expressive range of the archtop guitar. Together, the trio explores the full spectrum of the guitar trio format — textural, rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic — bringing fresh life to the music that defined the album.

For this concert, they’ll also premiere new compositions, expanding the trio’s sound world and pointing toward the next chapter of their collaboration. The Verb not the Noun was nominated for a 2023 Best Jazz Album Award at the Music Victoria Awards and has been praised as:
