Inspired by the trials and tribulations of meaningless jobs, complicated relationships, long coffee orders and making poor decisions, Grass Stains explores themes of strength, curiosity, and perseverance, often writing about real life experiences.

Fronting the band is Zena Mohammod - who is no stranger to the spotlights with sharing stages with the likes of; Tiny Moving Parts, Slowly Slowly, Spiderbait, Bugs and opening Falls Festival with her now hiatus old project, Squid Fishing.

Grass Stains have scored plays across triple j and community radio. Their debut single ‘Tone of Voice’ earned spots on triple j unearthed and Short Fast Loud rotation and has caught the attention of playlists made by Domestic La La and Our Golden Friends. “Debut single, hello! Grass Stains take musical and lyrical influence from bands such as The Beths, Luca Brasi, Bugs and Ruby Fields but are forever emo at heart. They have played with likes of; VOIID, Sputnik Sweetheart, Suzi, Eaglemont + more.
