ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Geoff Achison – 1995 Albert King Award winner for Best Guitarist – is renowned for his dynamic fingerpicking, fiery technique, and emotionally charged performances. Deeply rooted in the American blues tradition, Achison brings a style that's equal parts delta blues, southern soul and New Orleans funk. His performances are marked by intense passion, storytelling, and the kind of musical dexterity that’s left audiences in awe for decades.
Nick Charles – 2024 recipient of the Best Guitarist Award – is a fingerstyle virtuoso whose mastery of the guitar has earned him international recognition. With a deft touch and a refined, yet raw sound, Charles creates a space where every note feels both personal and profound. His music weaves intricate patterns through blues, folk, and Americana, while keeping the spirit of traditional blues alive in every note.

Damien Ellis Trio
Hailing from Wagga Wagga—the town so nice they named it twice— Damien whittled his drumsticks in the smoky glow of New York's underground jazz joints.
Now a regular at the Melbourne International and Wangaratta Jazz Festivals, Damien took home the title of Australia’s Best Up and Coming Drummer in 2009 and has never looked back.
His hard-swinging approach, fused with a deep appreciation of various genres, conjures a heady blend of tightrope spontaneity and the delicately refined.
Teaming up with Olaf Scott and Jordan Tarento, this trio blends the timeless with the cutting edge, transporting listeners to the era of hard bop jazz and beyond.
