As Melbourne rubs its bleary eyes and takes its first tentative steps into the light, this free show rounds up three acts in varying stages of creating a post-COVID future. Headlining post-punk luminaries EXEK are relatively old hands—they’ve released four albums and toured several continents—and they’ve emerged from isolation with a brand new—and highly-acclaimed—new album to play. Laughing Gear’s two-year existence, meanwhile, has coincided almost entirely with lockdown, and they’re dying to bring what's by all accounts a coruscating live show to local stages. And there's Raev, a newly-minted project from Tarquin Manek (Bum Creek) and Ruby Jeppe (Astral Travel) joined by James Vinciguerra (Total Control) and Josh Wells (AR53) that's never been seen live … until now.
