Edward Plowman makes his Bar Open debut with some of Melbourne’s hottest up-and-coming improvising musicians.
The line-up of just horns, bass, and drums is a format known as “strolling,” pioneered by the great master Sonny Rollins.
With no one playing the chords, new avenues of improvisational harmonic freedom, surprising interactions, and an exotic ensemble timbre open up. High risk, high reward!
