The Bird Conference are group of long-time friends exploring the depths of the jazz tradition through original compositions and interpretation of jazz standards. Unafraid to explore every corner of the idiom; pieces range from hard swinging numbers reminiscent of the Cannonball Adderley quintet, to free improvisation, to highly arranged pieces exploring harmony and odd time grooves. For this event the group will rearrange their original material for a guitar trio format and explore the repertoire and close-listening, interactive approach established by jazz greats Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Kurt Rosenwinkel.

The Bird Conference will play in Cocoa Jackson Lane from 8pm
