Step into a world where the experience of viewing is one that’s unhindered by narrative, where each work depicts a sphere, or spheres, and a horizon line only. While minimal in what is presented, these motifs of sphere and line, along with the surface marks found in most works exhibited, become the tools to negotiate the complexities of space, time, and the emotive power of colour and image. Here the conventional means with which to apply narrative are negated leaving nothing but a pure experience of what is before, the material substance of the work.

Perth based artist Suzanne .k. Franklin (sue.k.) returns to Melbourne after a long absence bringing with her a collection of small scale works on paper that further explore the materialist approach established in her experimental film/video practice.
