Come join us for what’s sure to be an amazing night at the one and only Creatures of Habit Bar!
Dërty Bërd along with some support from local legends Munkus Funkus and Renelophus are gonna get eclectic as hell, playing and drawing from more genres than you can shake a stick at.
All are welcome, let’s have some fun!
Dërty Bërd
Dërty Bërd is a Naarm-based, soulful/funky-reggae syndicate composed of mellifluous vocalists, earthy-toned brass players and a rhythm section that thrives on a dance-floor atmosphere. Dërty
Bërd is an eight-piece collective that borrows elements from afro-beat, ska, funk, soul and jazz and weaves them into one, attaining a sound akin to a love-child of Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Shaolin Afronauts, Jorja Smith and The Fearless Flyers.
Munkus Funkus
Grounded in experimentation and hard-hitting grooves, Munkus Funkus create unique jazz-funk. Making use of a playful compositional style, they take audiences on a journey charged with pleasure, chaos and dance. Expect sleazy bass lines, spicy harmonies, soulful horn lines and jungle breakbeats.
Renelophus
Dust, eucalyptus and sound waves of Renelophus fill the air through the back streets in Belgrave Victoria. Offering an Alt Rock and Moody Jazz Fusion, Renelophus takes a progressive approach to songwriting. With overly candid lyrics and bisexual vocal harmonies reminiscent of 90’s Hip-hop, experimental enjoyment of having one’s mind relocated seems to be the intention of the band. That, and musical polyamory. Following their giant trip-rock debut EP Release ‘The Blue Dot EP’ and then their more folk-fusion acoustic EP
‘Stripped’, the band offers art that is out of the ordinary for a party-going audience that yearns for something different.
And now with the release of their post-pop, grunge-jazz EP ‘Drop’, the band is about ready to pickle your pavlova.
