Watford born indie-rock artist Connie Constance plays her debut Australian shows this October, stopping in at Northcote Social Club for the first ever Eighty-Six Festival, held at music venues along the 86 tram line. Drawing on a diverse palette that extends from jazz, reggae and dub to the late 70s/early 80s punk and indie obsessed over by her record-collector stepdad, her compositions have always been both soulful and innately defiant. Connie’s recent output has seen her take a far more DIY approach with everything from songwriting to music video directing, and the gear change has certainly been well received. Inspired, and more determined to push boundaries than ever, Connie’s next chapter promises to be even more exciting than the last.
