Lo-fi electro sounds, guitar and bass combined with quirky song writing and on point vocal harmonies. Cheeses is the latest from long term musical collaborators Jane McCracken and Eva Sommerfeld (The Foots). This is what happens when two people just keep on making music together!

Rob Clarkson arrived in early 90s Fitzroy with a backpack full of songs about his hometown Hobart and other matters. He sang them to anyone who’d listen, catching busses up and down the Hume with a backpack full of compact discs and a toothbrush. He toured extensively with luminaries such as Wild Pumpkins at Midnight and Weddings Parties Anything. His weird folk-punk-pop songs found homes in share-houses with dirty carpets and disconsolate cats. He then was a co-founder of pub-pop band, Ruck Rover who released three albums as the century turned. Following one final solo album 2005, Clarkson more or less disappeared. He plays rarely now, but whenever he does, everyone agrees it’s rare.

Naarm based experimental 6 piece, Izjkala, host a night of live music that has been curated for folks who love organic, spiritual and soulful sounds.

Supporting these themes will be Soulutations, another naarm based collective, with heart and soul at the core of every deep rhythm and playful melody they share.

Opening the night, will be Arlon Faria. A talented multi-instrumentalist, who brings colours from both jazz, rnb, soul and the world around him to provide unforgettable melodies that discuss honest themes in everyday life.

Headlining is Izjkala. In fusing six members of unique musical backgrounds, ranging from classical, blues to jazz; the band envelop their audiences in ancient groove and intrinsic melody creating ominous and mystical soundscapes.

Escape a world of structure and expectations; come as you are… bring your best pair of dancing shoes and loose yourself on a sonic journey of mystery and rhythm.
