In March 2026, Castlemaine State Festival turns fifty — and the whole town is getting behind the celebration. For ten days, from 20–29 March, Castlemaine fills with music, performance, exhibitions, workshops, conversations and community moments across halls, gardens, churches, pubs, galleries and favourite local spots on Dja Dja Wurrung Country.

This edition is a true re-emergence. It’s open, welcoming and easy to join — whether it's diving into a full weekend of events or just dropping by with friends and family. Expect free outdoor gatherings, late-night offerings, hands-on workshops, family-friendly activities and plenty for the curious, the seasoned arts lovers and everyone in between.
