Throughout ‘Cajun Country’ in rural Southwest Louisiana and on the streets of New Orleans they celebrate the annual Catholic festival of Mardi Gras ‘Fat Tuesday’ the day before the start of Lent, a celebration of food, music and dance with beaded parades, costumed chicken runs, marching bands, dance bands, King cake and communal Gumbo’s...perhaps better known here as ‘Pancake Tuesday’ it’s only fitting that we invite you to join us for this occasion at Open Studio Music House and CreperieCome celebrate Cajun Mardi Gras with Melbourne’s own ‘Johnny Can’t Dance’ Cajun Band. One of Australia’s leading Cajun/Creole music ensembles and dedicated practitioners of the traditional dance and social music of Rural Southwest Louisiana.
