Step back into the roaring heart of the Jazz Age with the Cairo Club Orchestra, Melbourne’s premier vintage dance band. Specialising in music from the 1920s and 1930s, this spirited ensemble is devoted to recreating music from history’s dust bin—reviving rare and forgotten gems from the golden era of jazz and swing.

Founded by musician, historian, and Egyptology enthusiast, Peter Milley, the Cairo Club Orchestra blends expert musicianship with a deep respect for the past. Every performance is a time capsule: meticulously arranged charts, authentic period instrumentation, and the irresistible rhythms of early jazz bring the dance halls of yesteryear back to vibrant life.

With a repertoire that spans the hot jazz of New Orleans, the smooth sophistication of New York ballrooms, and the playful syncopation of Tin Pan Alley, the orchestra delivers an evening of elegance, energy, and entertainment. Their shows are more than concerts—they're a joyous celebration of an era when music was made for dancing, romancing, and living large.

Whether performing for swing dancers, vintage festivals, private events, or jazz lovers young and old, the Cairo Club Orchestra invites audiences to dress up, step out, and experience the thrill of live jazz played the way it was meant to be heard.

From the speakeasy to the stage, the Cairo Club Orchestra keeps the spirit of the Jazz Age alive—one glorious note at a time.
