BEKTET is the brainchild of jazz saxophonist and composer Jared Becker. The ensemble plays music influenced by the energetic and dynamic modern jazz scene of New York, while also drawing upon the spiritual music of modal improvisation. Becker's compositions are thematic, transcendent & emotive - with open forms that allow for the ensemble to build and encourage the listeners to go within themselves. This music is inspired by musicians such as Immanuel Wilkins, John Coltrane, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Brian Blade.
