From Victoria to Vancouver and now based in Montreal, Regularfantasy has become a hotly followed member of the underground Canadian dance music scene, as well as around the world. Both a collaborator and a solo artist, she has quite the CV, with 12-inch releases on Mood Hut and Total Stasis and ongoing collaborations with D. Tiffany as Plush Management Inc and Plush Throw. Not to mention the stream of straight-to-cassette mixtapes she's put out over the years.
She’s been defined as a purveyor of emotionally charged prime time chuggers. While her latest release, New Glow has been labelled her most accomplished solo release to date, combining house music with pop sensibilities. The result is luminous and lovely; built on bouncy beats, bubbling bass, glittery samples and tender pop vocals, these cuts are dancefloor-tuned with a lightness of touch and an emotional ear.
The EP also comes paired with two remixes, with Cecile Believe putting a sugar-dusted two-step spin on ‘So Sweet’ and Planet Euphorique (and previous collaborator) D.Tiffany pushing up the tempo on ‘Maybe Nevermind’s pop-house sparkle for a heads-down, trancey twist.
We’re so excited to be hosting her for her very last and most intimate show in Naarm (Melbourne) before she heads back off overseas, alongside a very hot local line up.
This is the first Bigger Boot show.
The opening acts are The Great Divides and Mararara.
Let’s freaking rock and roll.
