Appleman

The eclectic culmination of pianist/creative artist Spencer Hughes. His approach to composition is informed by his visual artwork delving into film, photography, and painting. Having drawn from other personal aliases such as Corduroy Boy and 10-piece group Chicken Wishbone, his roots have early been laid in hip-hop/jazz styles which has now evolved towards afro-cuban dance styles. So far, Appleman has released an array of short EP’s delving into solo production and short films. Currently they are gigging the Apple Quintet which features drumkit, congas, bass, keys and vocals.

Gestalt

Just four cadets seeking in a world of quests

Just four brains colliding in a timeless breath

Just four wizards in a game of chess

Just four musicians designing a tuneful death

Gestalt is more than the sum of its parts…

Alisha K

Alisha is an up and coming singer/songwriter in the Melbourne scene. Releasing two albums over the past two years, she has worked tirelessly to show the world who she is and what she has to say. Her trio’s indie/ pop/ blues/ jazz style is sure to grab your attention as she showcases her originals as well covers from her influences.

DJ Bootyshaker

DJ Bootyshaker is a producer with a love for soulful and psychedelic dance music.

His beats are inspired by a fierce desire to explore the healing and transformative power of live music, blending electronic and organic textures, and the diverse music scene in his hometown: Naarm aka Melbourne. His aim is to make you uncontrollably get a big stupid smile on your face and move ya body because it feels so damn good.

For this special occasion, DJ Bootyshaker will be performing a semi-improvised DJ-style set of originals/remixes with a laptop, a synth and a few pieces of hardware.

We live, work and play on land that was forcibly taken from Aboriginal people. There has been no Treaty with the First Nations of this place and the effects of colonisation continue to this day. We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, on whose land this event will take place. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded.
