Antelodic is an instrumental trio formed in 2012 by members of Melbourne contemporary jazz ensemble “cleverhorse”. Led byRobbie Melville, the ensemble features the unique combination of guitar with two saxophones - Gideon Brazil on tenor and Monty Mackenzie on alto. Antelodic began as an experiment in which the saxophones worked as a rhythm section whilst the guitar became the melodic voice. For four years the trio has experimented with various compositional styles and arranging techniques, developing a unique sound that spans chamber jazz and contemporary classical.
